Assertive or accommodating

Given these circumstances, how can women become leaders in the workplace?

At eight weeks, the brains of females in the womb grow to develop communication and emotion. As a result, women tend to be better communicators than men, and are more likely to be interactive with others.

Within any one office environment, you have people who deal with conflict well and some people who deal with conflict not so well.

You also have people who deal with conflict in one way, and a few others who deal with it in a way that is quite opposite.

On one end of the spectrum, female employees are expected to be nice, accommodating and considerate of the needs of others.

Inherently, there is nothing wrong with being nice; however, this general expectation can affect the aspirations of women in ascending the corporate ladder.

Inspire motivation by acknowledging the work done by others.
