Matthew’s Monday to Friday between and inviting the community at large into our beautiful church.Look for more information about other events in the Sunday Bulletin and the “Pulse of the Parish”. In doing this, we hope to provide our neighbours with a time and a place for quiet reflection and rest in their busy day.The Girls' Choir is an integral part of the Women & Girls Choir. The Women & Girls Choir is responsible for one of the Sunday liturgies per month. Matthew’s Anglican Teens (SMAT) range from ages 12-18.They often combine with the Choir of Gentlemen & Boys for concerts and major festivals. The youth group meets on the last Friday of every month, as well as during times of liturgical significance (like Easter).Education for Ministry (EFM) EFM is a course in theology for lay people.It is a four-year part-time study programme designed to teach people to think theologically, develop a personal systematic theology and increase their knowledge of the Holy Scriptures.Recent topics have included contemplative prayer, and, on Remembrance Sunday, the profiles of three of the 48 men of this parish who died in the First and Second World Wars.Conversations “Conversations” is an opportunity to meet on Sunday between the am and am services to discuss that Sunday’s Lectionary readings.
“Conversations” is usually held in 6 week blocks several times a year.Please let the office know if you are interested in joining an EFM program.Lenten Adult Bible Study Each year during Lent there is a Bible study lead by a member of the clergy.Every meeting is a little different, ranging from board games, movies, Bible studies, outings/field trips, outreach activities, and guest speakers.Our goal is to integrate the youth into the service, giving them opportunities to help out and understand what it means to be Anglican and why we do things the way we do them.All funds raised will be split between Pieta House Ireland and our local charity partner, the Youth Services Bureau of Ottawa.
